Start-up grants were designed to ensure that every Black Teacher Leader has sufficient capital to launch their microschool and begin from a place of abundance. We want educators to feel secure, knowing that if they do their part, funding will be waiting for them, without the need to work multiple jobs or undercompensate themselves during the first year of operation.
To be eligible for this grant program, applicants must:
1. Have at least one school founder who identifies as Black.
2. Be formally affiliated with the Wildflower Foundation.
3. Plan to create their school within the United States or Puerto Rico.
4. Be classified as a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization.
To complete this application, you will need:
- A current version of your resume.
- Your School Planning Album.
- Your signed lease agreement (if applicable).
- Detailed information about your current funding sources.
- A five-year school budget plan.
