Black Wildflowers Fund has designed this grant program to give Black Teacher Leaders access to a small, yet impactful grant (up to $10,000) to support their existing Wildflower School.
These grants will be issued by a council of teachers who are best positioned to understand and support their peers.
Eligibility Requirements In order to be eligible for this grant program, applicants must:
- Have at least one school founder who identifies as Black.
- Be affiliated with Wildflower and serving more than 20 students on or before November 1, 2025.
- Have a clear, time-sensitive and pressing operational need or opportunity that funding could support
- Schools that have not received a School Start-Up Grant in Summer 2025 or Ignite Grant in Fall 2024.
Documents needed during the application process:
- Current financials including School Year 2024-2025 (if applicable) and budget for School Year 2025-2026 that includes: Revenue, Operating Expenses, Philanthropic Donations
- Description of your current one-time, unmet need
- (Optional) Most recent 990 form that includes: Revenue, Operating Expenses, Philanthropic Donations
If your school is selected to receive an Ignite Grant, it is imperative that you reply to Black Wildflowers Fund communications in a timely manner. Failure to do so could result in the forfeiture of the award.
